A Message fromt he DCRC, an update on current initiatives for 2013-14

Dear Deep Cove Members and Families;

During the next two years the DCRC will be undergoing an aggressive Fundraising Program to replace two aging Quads and two un-rowable Doubles. The Board has been working with the coaching team this past fall to identify the immediate needs of our organization.  We have determined that we need to take a proactive approach to replace this equipment. By doing so we will ensure the success of the DCRC and its programs continue for the future.

Over the past few years the main equipment push for the DCRC has been to update and replace our safety boats. During this time we have purchased three new inflatable boats as well as a Boston Whaler. The Board has been able to do this with the assistance of the Gaming Commission through Gaming Grants. We will apply once again this year for the grants and ear mark what ever we receive to purchase equipment. However, it should be noted that the projected costs for the four boats over the two years will be just over $90,000.00

As you can see this is a hefty goal for the Club and Board, and we are looking for assistance, wherever possible. If every member donated $250.00 we would have this year’s goal achieved and the club would have two new boats.

During the course of the spring and fall we will be raising funds through various activities. We are hoping to raise $45,000 by September; this will include the Gaming Grants, Erg-a-thon, and other activities and donations that we can capture.

One possibility that the board would consider is to auction off the rights to naming the two new boats. As well as Sponsorships for our Deep Cove Classic Regatta. We are open to ideas…
