Deep Cove Classic - Information

On Sunday October 11, 2009 DCRC will be hosting the Deep Cove Classic. The scenic 5.5km course begins in front of our boat house, travels out to Jug Island, and back to finish at Panorama Beach. The Classic is run in 3 parts: the first 2 phases are run head race style and will offer several start times to accomodate equipment and crew issues. New for the year, the 3rd phase is the 500 Meter Dash for Cash

The Dash for Cash will run as follows: each club is awarded 2 entries per event, to be filled at the coach;s discretion, at a cost of $15/seat. All event are "Open" and in the following boat classes: single, double, and pair. Crews will race 2 at a time, to be determined by random draw occuring at 10:15am on the day of the regatta. The top three times from the heats will compete in the Final, where the winning boat will receive $100/seat.

Regatta meeting 7:20am at regatta site. First race starts at 8:00am.

Entries are due by October 3rd and can be submitted using the electronic form found on our website. Late entires will be accepted at the discretion of the regatta chairman. All athletes must be registered with their provincial rowing association and RCA. American athletes need to be a member of USRA.

Rowing Canada Aviron Rules of Racing will apply. Bow people will be supplied with a numbered pinnie which must be visible throughout the race. Shoes must have heel tie-downs. Proper bow balls are required on all shells. Clubs will be expected to self-monitor and abide by weight rules.
